GRUPO CAPOEIRA BRASIL was founded in January, 14th 1989, in Niteroi – R.J. by the masters Boneco (RJ), Paulinho Sabia (Niteroi – RJ) and Paulao (CE).Previously integrants of the Grupo Senzala, the three Masters received the bless of great names in Capoeira:
Suassuna, Itapoã, João Pequeno, Peixinho, Gato, Ezequiel, among others.
Grupo Capoeira Brasil is constantly updating its movements and songs to keep in touch with all that is happening in the world of Capoeira. All the new moves, songs, and facts found through research are discussed and carefully analysed by the Masters before being introduced to the students. It is only when the masters believe that the game will be enhanced that the new elements will be introduced.
Grupo Capoeira Brasil strongly respects the traditions, folklore and fundamentals of Capoeira but is always striving to mix a unique style of traditional and new movements and philosophies to create a more graceful and exciting art.
Today, Group Capoeira Brasil is found all over the world, with over 70 academies and schools, from Brussels to Sydney.
